I’ll tell my Daughter

I’ll tell my daughter about you

I’ll tell her what it’s like to feel the stars, what it’s like to find a home in another human being, what it’s like to feel two souls collide through tumbling laughter
I’ll tell my daughter about you

I’ll tell her how much it hurts when you don’t respect yourself enough to leave

When you don’t value yourself enough to say no, to demand better

I’ll tell her how much it hurts to try and change to be someone you’re not, someone you thought he would like better

I’ll tell my daughter about you

I’ll tell her not to wonder

Don’t ask yourself why you weren’t good enough for him, tell yourself not to ask questions of people who never had solutions and were only ever problems
